"Widowed in 1872 Margaret Kilfoyle widow of Darby took out a lease in 1879 on The Court Hotel in Molong, running it with her daughters because she still had a large brood of children to take care of and educate. From 1893 – 1903 - she ran a hotel in York St. Sydney that the Duracks called Kimberley House and the Duracks used it as their Sydney Headquarters" according to JDillon - Aug09
Note
From Janet Dillon: 15/08/2009 : "Jeremiah was the earliest Durack arrival that I know of, came to Goulburn, N.S.W Australia initially to provide family support for a Durack convict.
I have been corresponding with a descendant of the only Durack convict that I can find - he is Lawrence Durack also from County Clare - and coincidently Jeremiah named one of his children Lawrence Durack, they both had daughters named Catherine Durack, the convict Lawrence Durack had a daughter named Emily Durack (possibly named after his mother) he named a son John Durack, same as Jeremiah’s son John ‘Big Johnie’ Durack and what’s more if he is a brother to Jeremiah & Michael Durack, Lawrence (Convict) named his son John after his father John Durack known as ‘Daddy Jack’ just like Jeremiah ‘Darby’ Durack named his son. After Jeremiah ‘Darby’ Durack died, his wife Margaret Durack nee` Kilfoyle ran a hotel in Molong, coincidently Lawrence (Convict) daughter Catherine also ran a hotel in Molong. As you look at the map Molong is about maybe 40Km west of Goulburn – and Meadows Flat is from memory about maybe 60km east of Goulburn, Lawrence (Convict) and his wife Jane were running the Cobb & Co Changing Station at Meadows Flat. All three places are on a highway which would mean the horses would be changed at all three places one would think, a good way of being in contact with each other eh! Margaret later moved to Sydney and ran a hotel there, Lawrence’s daughter Catherine also moved to Sydney. (I probably need to check up further on her.) Unfortunately Lawrence didn’t talk about his past, the family were aware of it and when he died he was listed as a gentleman".
